In this oil painting I used thin, liquid glazes of paint, juxtaposed with thick pallet knife paint application to explore the contrasting themes of movement vs. stillness and water vs. sky. The repeating circle and cross motifs reference the blessings of being in stillness and peace with the ocean despite the continuous progression of time and the sun progressing toward the horizon.
